Limestone, marble or granite window sills?
Material, colour and finish are selected together. Compare samples in daylight in the room: the same stone can look different depending on the direction of light and whether it is honed or polished.
Limestone window sills
Limestone offers a natural appearance with variations in colour and texture. Our catalogue includes Azul Atlantico, Azul Valverde and Swedish limestones. Selection and finish are agreed against samples.
Marble window sills
Marble suits interiors where veining and variation form part of the design. Bianco Carrara, Ekeberg and Kolmården marble are examples in the catalogue. Let us know if several sills need to be visually coordinated in one room.
Granite window sills
Granite offers a different appearance through its granular structure. Grey and red Bohus granite are examples to compare. Select the stone and finish with the other project materials in mind.
Natural stone varies between and within slabs. Images and individual samples do not show the full range; expected selection needs to be agreed before production for larger orders.

Documentation is adapted to the project scope. Bulk deliveries normally use a dimension and labelling schedule that follows the stone through production and delivery.

Length, depth, thickness, overhang and clearance at reveals are specified for each type or position.
Material & finish
Stone type, colour variation, finish and any reference samples are confirmed before ordering.
Edges & cut-outs
Visible edges, chamfers, rounding, ends and cut-outs are shown in the dimension schedule.
Substrate & fixing
Load capacity, supports, bonding and bracket requirements are assessed against the sill dimensions and site conditions.

For bulk deliveries, every sill needs to be traceable from the drawing to the correct room. Use matching position numbers in the dimension schedule, floor plan and delivery schedule. Send Excel or PDF files with sketches where needed to explain the geometry.

Substrates and supports influence the solution.
A window sill can be installed on a continuous substrate or brackets. The stone properties, thickness, depth and overhang need to be assessed together. One standard bracket spacing will not suit every material and size.
The substrate must be stable and installation products selected for the particular stone. Joints and interfaces must allow movement; the stone must not be rigidly trapped between the frame and wall.
Coordinate before ordering

- Cut-outs, visible ends and connections to adjacent sills.
- Protective covering and responsibility during the remaining construction works.

Which material should we choose for our window sills?
Start with the desired appearance, finish and care requirements. Limestone, marble and granite each have a different character. A sample helps you compare the colour and finish with windows, walls and floors. We confirm the chosen stone and details before quoting.
How should we specify dimensions?
Provide length, depth and thickness in millimetres, quantities, visible edges and cut-outs. State whether dimensions refer to the finished stone or the wall opening. Cut-outs and angles require a dimensioned sketch. Fabrication dimensions are confirmed before ordering.
Can you supply materials only?
Yes. You can request made-to-measure supply only or include site measurement and installation. State the scope and delivery location so we can define the work in our quotation.
What determines price and lead time?
Stone type, size, quantity, edge finishing, cut-outs and delivery arrangements affect the quotation. Availability and production are checked for each order. Include your dimension schedule and preferred delivery week with your initial enquiry.
How should limestone and marble window sills be maintained?
Follow the care instructions for the selected stone. Avoid acidic cleaners, which can dull the surface. Protect against scratching and wipe up spills. Ask for material-specific advice when choosing the stone.
