02 — Background and approach
The experience behind STN Nordic.
STN Nordic is built on practical trade knowledge, technical expertise and many years of experience managing complex contracts in natural stone, fibre-reinforced concrete and other inorganic cladding materials.
Simon Rekonius is a qualified stone installer with a trade certificate and a graduate construction engineer. His background spans craftsmanship, project management, commercial responsibility and previous co-ownership in the natural stone industry.
Experience from previous contracts underpins STN Nordic’s approach: early planning, clear technical solutions and a close connection between estimating and actual production. The aim is to identify risks and site requirements before work starts, so design, purchasing, logistics, production, quality and finance operate as parts of the same process.

Granite and slate facades with responsibility for tenders, technical solutions, purchasing, production, quality assurance and handover.

Ekmansgatan 5
Fibre-reinforced concrete and granite plinth contract, from estimating and technical coordination to production, finance and completed delivery.
The building was later named Gothenburg’s best building of the year by the Per and Alma Olsson Foundation.Stockholm · 2020
Emergency entrance, Södersjukhuset
Fibre-reinforced concrete cladding and natural stone plinth at ground level. Responsibility for estimating, technical coordination, production, finance, quality and handover.

Flooring contract in a shopping centre with demanding coordination, logistics and phasing requirements.
Malmö · 2024–2025
St Matthew’s Church
Facade contract including additional insulation to the existing facade and new fibre-reinforced concrete cladding.
Helsingborg · 2019–2020
Sea U Hotel & Conference Center
Delivery following procurement, covering purchasing, production planning, project management, finance, quality and handover. The project included limestone and fibre-reinforced concrete.
